SEVENTEEN Tease New Comeback with a Dark and Dramatic Trailer for the 5th Album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY'

If there's one thing to get excited about with a SEVENTEEN comeback, it's that you know that the teasers alone will be bursting with so many dramatic scenes you’d think it was a trailer for an upcoming action film. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, the group returns with their fifth full-length album HAPPY BURSTDAY, their first since 2022’s Face The Sun, which featured the scorching title track HOT.

In a press release, the title is described as “HAPPY BURSTDAY blends the words ‘birthday’ and ‘burst’ to express the explosive energy of SEVENTEEN’s rebirth, capturing their desire to reinvent themselves as a ‘new SEVENTEEN’ and embrace a fearless new era beyond a decade.” It’s also been confirmed that all 13 members participated in the making of the album's recording and creation, despite Jeonghan and Wonwoo currently enlisted in the military.

In the past year, sub-units have taken the spotlight. March saw Hoshi and Woozi debut as a new sub-unit with their single album BEAM, led by the single 96ers’, as well as B-sides Stupid Idiot and Pinocchio, featuring So!YoON! They followed the beloved BSS (Hoshi, DK and Seungkwan), who in February released the single album TELEPATHY, marking their first in two years since the incredibly popular SECOND WIND.

The cinematic first teaser for HAPPY BURSTDAY: Dare or Death saw a high-stakes drama. The fast-paced energy scenes sees the members in intense, action-packed scenes ending in what could be danger, nicely tying in with the title 'Fight or Flight, we shall see.

2024 was the last album from the group SEVENTEEN is Right Here, a compilation album of their work thus far. With the title track Maestro allowing them to be the conductors of their own art, taking over and being in charge from a narrative of AI wiggling its way into the arts. As always, a SEVENTEEN music video is always a masterpiece all on its own, never predictable, always a showstopper and nothing but a joy to watch.

Since then, SEVENTEEN has been on a nonstop tour, making history as the first K-pop group to perform at Glastonbury and later going on to light up Lollapalooza Berlin – turning the grounds into a Caratland.

HAPPY BURSTDAY is available for pre-order in three versions bursting with content such as photocard, poster strips, and puzzles.
