A comeback that is a familiar face in the K-pop scene is NIEL, who is getting ready to release his 4th mini album, SHE, on the 22nd of April. It comes after his third mini album, A to Z, reminding us why he was so charismatic as the vocalist in Teen Top. Within the group he helped shape the soundtrack of the early 2010s with chart-toppers like No More Perfume On You, Miss Right, and Rocking songs that still spark nostalgia in fans of 2nd and 3rd generation K-pop.

His next move saw him take his career into his own hands, establishing his own agency called EL&D Entertainment. In regard to his brand new agency, he explained that the name combines "EL" from his stage name and "D" from his birth name, Daniel. The name reflects his goal of showcasing new sides of himself—both as an entertainer and as a person—that fans haven't seen before.

And with that, he begins a new era. This marks a new high in his career, and what better way to begin than with the new album? This time he’ll be saying goodbye to the traditional Korean R&B, and just like his new beginning will embrace the rich textures of neo-soul and groove pop, delivering a collection of deeply evocative tracks that unravel the complexities of love with raw honesty. Because what's more complex than love? An album that will undoubtedly resonate with many as it explores emotions that are so intense they feel almost uncontrollable—like a sudden flash of light breaking through the darkness, illuminating every feeling in its purest form.

The title track of the same name looks set to be a personal tale of heartbreak and turmoil with a sprinkle of regret. Making for what sounds to be a perfect concoction for a hit love song with lyrics such as “I was the one who said goodbye, yet the moment I realised that I was the one truly hurting, waves of regret and longing crashed over me, growing clearer with time. You were the one whose love changed—so why am I the one left in ruins? Trapped in a whirlwind of emotions, unable to hold on yet unable to walk away without hesitation, I must make one last choice for you.”

Who else has been in this position? Besides the comeback, the singer is expected to pursue diverse activities both in Korea and overseas, including musical theatre. In the lead-up to the album's release, concept photos and teasers are slowly being unveiled to build the anticipation for release day. In addition to the release, NIEL has begun his run in the musical 6 O’Clock Off Work, playing a singer-songwriter – a role undoubtedly he has no issue playing. Niel will also continue to connect with fans through a wide range of performances and both online and offline content.

On April 2nd at 2PM KST, pre-orders for SHE, NIEL’s fourth mini album, opened across various music sales platforms. The album will be released in a photobook format and includes a CD, photobook, poster, photocards, stickers, and more, offering fans a collectible package filled with NIEL’s signature talent.

Mark your calendars. The long-awaited album is set to drop on April 22 at 6PM KST and will be available on all major streaming platforms. Whether you're a long-time fan or just discovered this, this comeback looks set to be his best yet.
