KISS OF LIFE Issues Handwritten Apology Amid Ongoing Cultural Appropriation Backlash

KISS OF LIFE is under intense scrutiny after their recent livestream sparked widespread criticism. The group lost over 200,000 followers in just three days following a themed broadcast that many viewers found racially insensitive. Members appeared with cornrows, Bantu knots, flashy accessories, and engaged in stereotypical behavior associated to Black and Latino
Americans—including freestyle rapping and calling one member “Lil Taco Belle.”

Although S2 Entertainment removed the video and issued a statement expressing regret for unintentionally reinforcing harmful stereotypes, the backlash hasn’t subsided. The label explained their goal was to honor old-school hip-hop, but many fans felt the execution was tone-deaf.

Frustrated supporters began demanding individual apologies from the members, not just the company. On April 5, KISS OF LIFE addressed these concerns directly by posting a handwritten letter on social media.

Each member expressed regret and accepted accountability. This note followed their initial apology on April 2, but fan response remains mixed, especially as members resumed normal posting shortly after the controversy.
