EXO’s KAI makes a comeback with his fourth mini album, “Wait On Me.” on April 21.
“Wait On Me” marks KAI’s return as a solo artist, nearly two years after releasing his third solo mini album “Rover” in March 2023. The album comprises 7 songs, including the title track, “Wait On Me,” a refined pop track built on Afrobeats-inspired rhythms, where restrained percussion grooves and tension-building synth strings come together. The song highlights KAI’s ability to convey subtle emotions and layered expression, showcasing the depth of his artistry through both sound and performance.
The music video for 'Wait On Me,' which will be released simultaneously with the album, visualizes the theme of “the beauty of waiting” through the concept of a solar eclipse. The video enhances its appeal with striking character stylization and artful silhouette scenes, creating a visually captivating experience. The performance also draws attention with intuitive choreography that directly reflects the lyric “wait,” as well as a powerful dance break.

In addition to his music career, KAI has been cementing his status as a multi-hyphenate artist through a variety of entertainment roles, most recently taking on the role of MC for the web variety show “JEONGWAJA: Changing Majors.” He has also made appearances on popular programs such as “Salon Drip,” “Self-On KODE,” and “Car the Jungwon,” revealing a more down-to-earth and charming side that contrasts with his powerful stage presence. Most recently, he was announced as a guest on SBS’s long-running variety show “Running Man,” further solidifying his position as an all-around star.
