On April 28, Supergroup JO1 made history by performing as the headline act for the Dodgers’ Japanese Heritage Night, becoming the first Japanese idol group to represent and celebrate Japanese culture.
As part of their ongoing commitment to social impact, JO1 launched a campaign titled "WHEREVER WE ARE" to raise donations alongside their fans, aiming to create meaningful contributions to communities in need.
This initiative was recently highlighted at the United Nations Headquarters. In a generous gesture, the members of JO1 donated $50,000 to support the victims of the recent LA fires, with the check being presented to the Dodgers Foundation on the field following Takashi Murakami's ceremonial first pitch.
This historic performance followed a series of sold-out shows across the U.S. and their appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, further solidifying their presence in the international music scene.
JO1 and Takashi Murakami enjoyed the game from the same suite, and the Dodgers honored them as special guests of the night.
In celebration of their fifth anniversary since debuting, JO1 recently released their "Best Of" album. The title track, "BE CLASSIC," which samples Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, has achieved remarkable success, ranking first on Billboard Japan’s Download Songs and Hot Shot Songs as of April 2, and reaching #1 in daily sales on Japan's Orion chart upon its release.
The music video for "BE CLASSIC" has garnered significant attention, amassing over 26 million views since its debut. An English version of "BE CLASSIC" was also released on April 28.
