Since the start of the new year, Trendz has been teasing fans with new music, and this time, they’ve released a Japanese single on January 31st.
If you're not familiar with Trendz, they are a boy group under NM Media, consisting of seven members: Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan. The group debuted in 2022 with the EP Blue Set Chapter 1 and has been actively promoting and releasing new music for three years now.
In the fall of 2024, the group toured the USA as part of the Kpop Breakout Tour, presented by Leo Presents, alongside fellow artists like U-Chae, Ichillin, and Craxy. Clearly, they’ve been non-stop, working hard to show new music while meeting fans both domestically and for the first time, abroad, such as US and Turkey in 2024.
Their new Japanese single, "Bad Enough," reveals a darker and edgier side to the band. Trendz is known for its signature style of hard-hitting rap, powerful synchronized dance choreography, and perfectly timed vocals that grab your attention and stand out in each new comeback. "Bad Enough" showcases these strengths, along with some unique wind instruments and string plucking in the pre-chorus, leading into a powerful chorus and intense choreography. It’s clear that the concept of the single’s music video represents a fresh new style for the group. Since this is a Japanese single, it may cater more to the Japanese audience melodically. While the style of music is new for the group, there are definitely some repetitive percussion and rhythms that might not make it onto my personal playlist. However, I can easily picture this as a performance-heavy song on stage.
