On February 18, ONF presents the first part of their 2nd full-length album [ONF:MY IDENTITY], after about 10 months since their 8th mini-album [BEAUTIFUL SHADOW] released in April of last year, and their first full-length album in about 4 years since their 1st full-length album [ONF:MY NAME] released in February of 2021.
Having captivated fans at home and abroad with their magnificent narrative and unrivaled live performances through their 8th mini album, ONF is attempting another transformation with their 2nd full-length album [ONF:MY IDENTITY]. In this album, ONF presents a deeper worldview and music, and as travelers chasing their dreams, they convey hope and the strength to move forward to those in the dark.
This time, they worked with producer Hwang Hyun, who has been with them since their debut, and members Minkyun and Wyatt participated in composing and writing lyrics for the title track and other tracks, adding more meaning. In particular, ONF writes a story that only ‘we’ can tell, based on ‘our’ standards rather than the absolute standards set by the world. The members not only show an upgraded musical spectrum by exploding the synergy of bright energy, but also show off their flawless ‘performance craftsmen’ appearance.
The album consists of a total of 6 tracks. First, the title song ‘The Stranger’ is a pop genre song with a funky rhythm that stands out, and the vocals that freely move across a wide range of tones are impressive. With the theme of “the story of ‘us’ chasing their dreams,” the members’ attractive tones blend harmoniously to create a strong attraction and show the determination and strength to go their own way.
Not only the title song, but the other songs also boast a high level of perfection. ‘Night Tale’ sharply and attractively depicts a wandering heart, ‘Nothing but a stranger (ON Team Ver.)’, an R&B song by the vocal unit ON Team that conveys their feelings with melody and harmony, ‘Anti Hero (OFF Team Ver.)’ by the performance unit OFF Team that shows off diverse charms as much as the song’s splendid variations, ‘Good Place’ that gives a brief break from a busy daily life, and ‘Collab’ that contains a message they want to convey to their fans, this regular 2nd album Part. 1 is enough to further solidify ONF’s group identity as Only One.
