London Begins the New Year in Style with P1Harmony

Did you share a New Year's kiss? What are your goals for the New Year? These were just a couple of questions posed to the crowd at The Troxy Sunday night by P1harmony’s leader Keeho who was determined to make sure everyone was focused on their goals for the New Year and that 2025 was to be a year to remember. And what better way to kick off the January on the right note—by celebrating it together with them.

If your goal for was to be more active, then P1Harmony offered the perfect workout- because the energy levels were delivered in energiser bunny loads. The first three songs were the perfect trio combining both the fun and excitement on how they can open a show. The VCR not only hyped up the crowd but also highlighted their visuals wonderfully, with each member appearing to even louder screams. With that and the biggest bang you’ve heard in your life they jumped into Street Star, Emergency and Everybody Clap.

What makes P1Harmony so exciting to watch, besides their obvious talent, is their sense of humour. This time, they decided to dive into British culture, complete with humorously bad attempts at British accents and Jongseob playfully mocking how we pronounce “water.” Keeho faced a chorus of boos after admitting he couldn’t tell the difference between British and Australian accents. But all was quickly forgiven as Intak revealed it was time to showcase their vocals.

And that they certainly did and more, proving that not only can they do high energy party numbers but the subtle beauty in tracks such as I Am You and Butterfly. Of which the latter, was a delicately put together routine that is worthy of high praise. Butterfly (back by popular demand) shows just why P1Harmony are on the must watch radar of many, slow R’n’B style with vocals from Keeho, Jiung, and Theo- check, pace of rap thanks to Intak, Soul, and Jongseob triple check.

Add to this the delicate moves and encompassing white outfits showcasing their own style of all 6 equates to nothing short of captivating. What’s so beautiful about this song is it never fails to make me emotional, it has a layer of vulnerability in the vocals that are not only impressive but carry with it a heartfelt and powerful message of overcoming small things to embrace your own life.

The next stage played to their strengths well, leading into a personal favourite:2024’s Killin it. What I particularly love about this performance is the way the rappers infuse their rapid- flow, while the vocalists interweave their parts without missing a beat into the mix - all of this happening while executing a tight choreography. Some of the moves which are well known and easy for fans to join in, on top of that the crowd were ear splittingly loud shouting out lyrics word for word, abandoning any attempt at singing. Moments like these are so exciting to witness- a song so popular that hearing it live transforms it into a memorable shared experience for everyone in the room.

Their latest release from their album Sad Song saw the title track make its debut appearance to a chaotically loud replica of the front covers fiery, bold and eye-catching something that is easily description worthy of the boys. The screens for each track were simple yet still effective blending the aesthetics of the track and that particular style, which was worked well in the next segment of the show.

And the surprise of the evening came from Theo who started the solo stages - guitar in hand he proceeded to play and sing the iconic Oasis Don’t Look Back In Anger. With him playing guitar and singing, the lyrics to the song featured behind him making the audience included in his performance singing word for word together.

The solo stages featured each member doing their specific song of choice which matched their style. This segment was well executed and I also loved how dynamic and diverse it was- a proper goodie bag of a talent show. After Theo came Intak with his smooth and sexy moves on Victoria Monet’s On My Mama. Jongseob proved just why he’s a rapper we must all watch out for on Praise The Lord (Da Shine) by A$AP Rocky/Skepta. Jiung had everyone go crazy over Justin Bieber's Baby, while Keeho tugged at the heartstrings with Billie Eilish’s Wildflower.

But the one that stood out the most was Souls' dance stage; he truly came into his own light and dominated what he’s born to do. It was all kinds of right, it was sleek, sharp and who doesn’t look good in red? While solo stages can sometimes distract from the setlist, this one instead chose to showcase their unique abilities as individuals and how they work well bringing those elements into a group dynamic.

The endless energy never gave way and this was proven with Countdown To Love, as the countdown on the screen reached zero the room descended into a gigantic party. The said party burst out with giant bouncy inflatable balls, confetti and for an already excitable crowd it gave them the props to truly round off a one of a kind show. To top it all off, P1Harmony then treated fans to an extended encore of four songs, making it clear they weren’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

Unafraid to tease their fans and each other, they keep things unscripted. The group created a relaxed atmosphere while still keeping to a structured flow typical of many K-pop shows. But most importantly they made it laid-back, and natural. With over 2 hours of performances and 29 songs, it was well and truly a magical experience filled with fun interactions, colourful stages, and a crowd ready to party. To quote a line from one of their own songs, they really are “Killin’ it.”
