Gibson Announces HIROKI KAMEMOTO as Artist Spotlight Program Musician

Gibson, the iconic, leading American instrument brand has shaped sound across generations and genres of music, becoming one of the most relevant, played, and loved brands around the world. As part of Gibson’s commitment to artist-first culture and elevating new music from emerging musicians around the world, Gibson’s Artist Spotlight Program highlights an evolving roster of musicians who are celebrated across Gibson’s global and international channels.

Gibson is thrilled to introduce HIROKI KAMEMOTO into Gibson’s Artist Spotlight program.

Guitarist, programmer, composer, and arranger for the rock duo Glim Spanky, Hiroki Kamemoto brings bluesy, emotionally charged guitar playing that perfectly complements the unique, husky vocals of Remi Matsuo. Together, they’ve crafted a one-of-a-kind sound inspired by the music, fashion, and art of the 60s and 70s.

Glim Spanky has made waves in Japan's music scene since its major debut in 2014. They had a successful headlining show at Budokan and rocked the GREEN STAGE at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2018. They’ve also written songs for TV dramas, movies, and anime and collaborated with various Japanese artists/bands. They wrote the theme song “Ikari Wo Kureyo” for the 2016 movie One Piece Film Gold.

This year, Glim Spanky celebrated the 10th anniversary of their major debut with a successful tour of Japan last summer, and released a new compilation album All The Greatest Dudes.
