On October 23, 2024, girl group Loosemble visited the San Francisco Palace of Fine arts theater while on their US tour “Up_Link Station”. The tour consists of nine cities across the US with places such as Orlando, New York, Boston, Pittsburgh, Madison, Minneapolis, Tacoma, San Francisco, and Los Angeles!

A bit about the girl band--they are a five member girl group as a sub unit from the original girl group Loona. Members Hyeju, Yeojin, Kim Hyunjin, Vivi, and Gowon make up the team Loosemble (which stands for Loona Assemble), describing the five members on an adventure spacecraft in search of other loona members while on their own journey. Member Yeojin is currently on a health hiatus and has surely been missed on tour, but we’re excited to catch her again in the future! Their fandom name is “Crew” as part of their adventure, which seems very fitting for fans all over the world who have been following Loona in their careers for a while.

On September 2, 2024, Loosemble released their latest EP Album: "TTYL," a fun new body of work in their discography that is filled with easy and pleasing tunes for fans and new listeners to explore. With songs such as 'Hocus Pocus,' and 'Cotton candy' (just to name a few), as well as their title track TTYL which is very catchy and a fast paced rhythm song that is upbeat.

The girls opened the show with Hocus Pocus, a very upbeat and rhythmic song that has a noticeable beating drum, but also showcases the girls' vocal harmonies that’s pleasing to the ear. The band showed off their cute poses and stage charm while maintaining on beat to the music that had fans in awe. Their second song '
He said I said', had fans excited when they walked around the stage waving and doing fan engagements that was sweet to see.

During their opening talking segment, the girls greeted their fans cheerfully while saying it had been a year since their last US tour and how they were excited to see San Francisco Crews again while preparing better stages and sides of themselves. Fans were warmly greeting them in anticipation and excitement to finally be reunited. The members even shared a little bit about their tourist experience exploring around the city eating at a pasta restaurant and visiting the famous Lombard Street in the city known for its winding road through some houses down a hill that can be walked or driven (Check out their TTYL tik tok they filmed there!).

Member Hyejun even took time to teach fans how to dance the TTYL tik tok challenge and recorded it together on stage. The dance was quite fast and yet fun at the same time and even after that song was performed by the group, they stated it is a very fast song that’s sometimes hard to perform, but they know how fun and enjoyable it is for the fans.

One song that really caught my attention was 'Boomerang' , a b-side  track from their 2024 spring album “One of a kind”. The song has an interesting beat and low tone dissonance, but also emphasizes the group's harmony with the unique beat. The is an interesting pop song with a hip hop influence as well.

The girls also did a “My favorite thing about Loosemble” segment where fans wrote post-it notes sharing their favorite things about Loosemble and other messages for the band on a board. The girls took their time reading through the notes and other requests from fans. One memorable moment was when a fan said they loved Loosemble since 2019 and they were 10 years old at the time. The members gasped in shock and amazement while realizing that the fan was here tonight now being 15 years old. The girls faced the audience expressing how touched and thankful they were.

Finally, the girls ended the show with encore songs 'strawberry soda' and 'day by day,' capturing their last interactions with San Francisco Crew, by doing selfies on phones, and waving and engaging with the audience to say a sweet goodbye until next time. It was definitely a sweet experience to see so many Loona fans with their different lightsticks (Artms, Loona, and Loosemble). Many lightsticks were present within the audience and it was touching to see the fans' unity with the members no matter the unit group.

Best of luck to Loosemble in their next projects and hope to see them again in San Francisco!

Thank you Wonderwall and Palace of Fine art theater for having us!
