KCON LA is a 3-day festival that brings together K-pop fans from across the globe. The festival is also an opportunity for lesser-known idols to promote themselves to the Western K-pop base.

BOOTHS AND STAGES ON FESTIVAL GROUNDS:

There is something occurring at every corner of the festival grounds. There are a plethora of pop-ups and booths that shower attendees with free samples of their products. Some have you play interactive games to win prizes like tote bags, polaroid photos and even an Airmax pro. I even once walked in and saw Kep1er performing on the Meet & Greet stage to the left while ZeroBaseOne one played games with fans on another stage to the right. The best of both worlds.

KCON’s festival grounds were not only filled with booths and activities, there were also several influencers among the crowd. So not only are you seeing your favorite idols but you have a chance to run into your favorite influencers as well as there are many who were either  invited to participate or are just attending for fun.

DREAM STAGE:

Through a 3-round audition process, these lucky fans are given a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on stage with their idols. I wanted to experience this first hand so I took part in the Enhypen audition process.

I passed all three auditions and was one of forty fans on stage out of the 100+ who made it to the in-person preliminaries. After passing the audition stages, we stayed with the performance director for the whole day leading up to the performance.

It was truly a surreal experience running into the idols backstage, rehearsing with Enhypen themselves and actually performing in front of a crowd-packed Crypto Arena.

KCON STAGE AND M-COUNTDOWN CONCERT:

The KCON and M COUNTDOWN concert stages were decorated with artists such as ZEROBASEONE, Taemin, Somi, NCT 127, BIBI, Enhypen, Kep1er, P1Harmony, BoyNextDoor and many, many more. Each act brought a different color to the stage, leaving their unique mark behind at KCON’s closing event.
