Since its beginnings in 1991, Lollapalooza has seen a range of star studded line ups and has become one of the largest music festivals in the US. Starting in Chicago the festival can now be attended in multiple cities across the world including: Buenos Aires, Paris, Stockholm, Berlin, and Mumbai.

The beauty of Lollapalooza is that it offers a little slice of music heaven for fans across multiple genres with line-ups including pop, rock and hip-hop. In recent years, K-pop has seen several big acts take to the stage featuring more prominent acts such as Tomorrow X Together, and J-hope (BTS), who famously headlined 2022’s final night’s show.

This year saw two K-pop groups take to the stage, Stray Kids and girl group IVE. On August 3rd IVE performed the third day of the four-day event. Making their mainstage U.S festival debut, the group performed a 45-minute set that included some of their most popular hits such as “I AM,” “LOVE DIVE,” “Kitch,” and “All Night” accompanied by a live band. Fans DIVE lovingly named the festival IVEpallolza, which drew in a crowd estimated to be around 40,000.

The six members of IVE An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeso formed in 2021 and rose to success following the release of their first single, “ELEVEN,” which went on to win multiple awards, alongside their other title tracks. In 2023, the group released their debut album I’ve IVE featuring the hit songs “I AM,” which has garnered over 831 million streams globally, and “Kitsch,” as well as their first EP 2023’s  I’VE MINE featuring “Baddie.” The girls are currently on their first world tour, titled “IVE THE 1ST WORLD TOUR SHOW WHAT I HAVE", which has seen them perform in over 27 different cities in 19 countries since last October.

The girls next festival will see them perform at Japan's annual Summer Sonic music festival to be held on August 17th in Osaka and August 18th in Tokyo.
