FREE PASS is a dynamic 4-member group consisting of Gyuntaek, Sanghee, Seonghwan, and Daewoon. They made their debut in 2019 with the single “SACE” under BADBOSS Entertainment and recently celebrated their 5th anniversary in July.
The group's dedication to their craft and their fans is evident in their relentless pursuit of excellence. Each member brings a wealth of experience, having spent around 10 years in the K-pop industry through various groups such as BLT, Road Boyz, BLANC7, and B.HEART, as well as pursuing solo projects. This diverse background has shaped FREE PASS into a versatile and resilient group that can tackle anything from fast-moving dance tracks to power ballads, with an unwavering passion for music and performance.

On July 25, FREE PASS released their performance video for the single "Kill This Love." This powerful dance track delves deep into the emotional struggles of love and separation, highlighting the group's ability to blend poignant lyrics with intense choreography. The maturity of their artistry shines through in the polished performance and skillful vocals. In this interview, we explore the depths of the track and gain insight into FREE PASS's aspirations and plans, offering a closer look at the group’s journey and what lies ahead for them.
Can you tell us about your new song “Kill This Love”?
“Kill This Love” is a song that honestly expresses the pain of love and the feelings of separation, it contains the feeling of ending love and not being able to endure the pain. It is a powerful dance song that emotionally expresses the pain of love and the difficulties of separation.
Is there a part of the song that you would switch with another member?
Gyuntaek: I want to try Sanghee’s part, “You steal my heart without a care and make it so I can’t even move.” I want to start off strong.
Sanghee: I like my current part the best. Because I can show off both the verse and the rap part.
Seonghwan: I want to try Gyuntaek's part, “You hold my breath and cross that line and dig into me.”
Daewoon: I want to try out Gyuntaek-hyung's part, "I'm going crazy, I fall down in your eyes," and "Even if I stay still, I dig deep and break down" rap too.
Do you have any other hobbies or non-music related talents?
Gyuntaek: I used to be a national aerobic gymnastics team athlete. So I'm good at aerobic gymnastics.
Seonghwan: I used to be a field hockey player. I've been playing field hockey as a hobby recently.
Sanghee: I'm currently working in the video industry. I'm working on various video projects, such as dance practice videos and music videos.
Daewoon: I'm more interested in fashion than music. That's why I do our coordination.

Our favorite lyric from "Kill This Love" is "My heart seems to have dried up like a flower petal that has withered."
Which color represents FREE PASS the best?
I think our team's color is white. It's like you could draw us on a blank sheet of paper.
Have you had any memorable or funny experiences during a concert or performance?
The most memorable moment for us was when we released our first album "SACE" and performed overseas for the first time in the Philippines. Even though it was our first time, our fans welcomed us and loved us so much that we can't forget that time. We want to go on many overseas concerts soon.
If each member had a solo stage, what would you like to show?
Gyuntaek: I like RnB genre songs, so I want to show you a sentimental RnB song.
Seonghwan: I always enjoy singing K-ballads. So I want to show you my solo ballad song.
Sanghee: I want to show you a sexy dance song like Taemin sunbaenim.
Daewoon: I also really like Korean ballads. So I want to show you my own ballad song.
What is something you like to hear from others?
There's something that our members always talk about: Let's become a talented group. We want to become the best performers who can sing, dance, and rap.
So the words we want to hear the most are, "FREE PASS is really good at performing."

Our FREE PASS has experienced failure in debuting as idols several times, but we have not been discouraged and have been working as singers together as a group of four. What can we expect from FREE PASS next?
We will work hard to prepare for our album and perform like we are doing now. If we get the chance, we definitely want to perform overseas. Currently, we are only performing in Korea, so I think we would be so happy if we could meet fans from various countries.
