On July 24, Korean rock band and producer crew KAVE (abbreviation of Kings Always have Veiled Egos) has officially debuted with EP "Flight of Ideas." The band is fronted by singer-songwriter Gaho as the lead vocalist and members Jisang (guitar), Hyun (keyboard), Ownr (keyboard, DJ), and Kekinu (drums).

Flight of Ideas includes seven self-composed, self-arranged tracks: “Venom,” “Legend,” “Hurricane,” “Dangerous,” “Avant,” “Crazy Crazy,” and “Die for U.” The title track, 'Legend', is a hybrid rock song based on shuffle rhythm with added electronic sounds.

The pre-released lead single 'Venom' combines Latin rhythms and Afrobeat. 'Hurricane' features metallic guitar riffs and symphonic sounds. 'Dangerous' blends alternative rock, EDM, and deep house. 'Avant' layers ethnic textures on Afro beat. 'Crazy Crazy' is charming with its Latin mood and flute sounds. Lastly, 'Die For U' adds R&B sensibilities to deep house. Each song presents a diverse and polished sound. That being said, KAVE will show their band's maximalism with a variety of sophisticated sounds in their mini album.

KAVE has also released a short-form video for “Venom, which was produced by Team Us, who are known as the choreography team behind artists including BoA, NCT, and THE BOYZ.

Prior to KAVE’s official debut, Gaho was known as the voice behind Korea’s hottest drama OSTs, such as “Start Over” from Itaewon Class, “Running” from START-UP, and “Yellow Light” from King the Land. Jisang, Hyun, Ownr, and Kekinu worked as producers on Gaho’s solo albums as well as on many viral song covers such as BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls,” “How You Like That” and ROSE’s “On The Ground.” The members were also active as producers and session musicians for tracks including SHINee’s “I Say,” THE BOYZ’s “White,” and Lee Jong Suk’s “Come To Me.”

At KAVE’s debut media showcase, held at Musinsa Garage in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on July 23, Gaho gave insight into their creation as the coming together of his friends from high school and college. Though the group was first formed to produce music, the idea of playing musical instruments was later introduced, and the band KAVE was born. Gaho shared his hopes that listeners and fans can come to separate Gaho, the solo artist, from KAVE’s Gaho and enjoy the different genres of music explored and released in the future.

The band will make one of their first official appearances at the famed INCHEON PENTAPORT MUSIC FESTIVAL on August 2, 2024.
