Summer is always full of pop numbers to get everyone in the mood for fun in the sun. Today (July 1st), YG Entertainment’s rising K-Pop group, BABYMONSTER, aims to help kickstart the summer with their new single “FOREVER.”
The pre-release does an excellent job at showcasing just why these girls are so popular, brimming with gorgeous vocals and the quick raps by rapper Asa who steals the show. Accompanying the release is the chic and glamorous music video. The video starts with the girls waking up in a hotel suite opening VIP invitations leading to them getting ready in designer attire whilst conducting flawless choreography dance breaks.
It’s no surprise that they've been named as one of NYLON’s bands to watch in 2024. Having only debuted on April 1st, the girls have gone on to make quite an impression. Their record-breaking debut mini-album [BABYMONS7ER] sold 400,000 copies upon release, breaking the record for highest first-week album sales for a K-pop girl group. The EP featured three tracks BATTER UP, SHEESH, and LIKE THAT. However, fans will have to wait a little longer for their highly anticipated first full-length album, which is due later this fall.
The seven-member group, made up of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita have also been revealed as the latest act to perform at Japan’s largest music festival, Summer Sonic 2024, in Tokyo taking place in August. They will perform alongside some of the biggest names on the global music scene, including Bring Me The Horizon, MÅNESKIN, and Greta Van Fleet. If that wasn't enough, they’ve gone on to make a splash in the fashion world as recently named global ambassadors for Adidas. You can watch the announcement video HERE.
