On July 19, band 2Z released their 4th single album "Playground."
Back in January 2024, 2Z released their 7th EP, [Do Not Disturb], and introduced it as a work of rest to look back on the first half of the four years since their debut. However, it was only a break in the musical aspect, and 2Z showed a non-stop movement.
After the album was released, they concentrated on promotional activities such as music broadcasts, and at the end of March, they embarked on their second Latin American tour. The tour held in four cities in Brazil was enough to lay the foundation for 2Z to grow to the next level.
As they began work on their new album, 2Z said they thought a lot about "what kind of work to start with" to tackle the new challenge of the latter half of the year. As a result of receiving votes from 200 evaluators in random order for a total of 4 tracks, this album "Playground," was selected as the first work of the new challenge.
The title song of this work, 'Playground', literally means 'playground'. For us, the playground was a place for communication and a stadium of dreams. We all know that such playgrounds have become forgotten and meaningless as we grow older or change generations.
2Z is singing about those pure memories and the vague hopes through this song. The reverse FX is reminiscent of a time warp, and it seems like the beginning of a very R&B verse, but the song takes a sharp turn to deliver a primal rock sound. In particular, the last lyric of the song, “If only we could be together!” contains the message of hope that 2Z is with you, as always.
'Playground' Music Video
The second track '2Z Anthem', is a song popular overseas without any lyrical barriers ahead of the last Latin American tour. This is a performance song created with the intention of writing a song with lyrics that everyone can relate to. This song has already been performed on many live stages, and it is said that it was included as a bonus track as a gift with the release of this single album.
Due to the 'COVID-19 pandemic' that occurred less than a month after their debut in January 2020, 2Z's hands and feet were tied and they were only able to meet their fandom, 'FromA', through online and album releases and promised that someday they would go to the place you are waiting for.
After visiting Latin America for three consecutive years starting in 2022, and following the release of this album, 2Z held a Japanese tour at the end of August, a European tour at the end of September, festivals in Hong Kong and Macau in October, and a US tour in November, 2Z finally made the 'promise' you've been waiting for. The scope of the promised land will continue to expand and they will continue to keep their promises. Meanwhile, 2Z are promoting their single on the weekly music broadcasts.
