As the sun started to set on Sunday afternoon at The Coachella Valley Music Festival, Korean alt-pop indie band THE ROSE were painting the stage red for their fans with their infectious energy. The 45-minute set marked a first for the festival, making The Rose the first Korean rock band to perform at the Outdoor Theatre at Coachella. The performance showcased a new remix version of ‘Lifeline’ (Reborn) while featuring a surprise delivery during their fan favorite ‘Wonder’ helping close out the show.
Following their record breaking North American and European Tour, the band dedicated their performance to their fans with frontman Woosung remarking:
“When we first started, we started in a very small place in Seoul called Hongdae. That’s where we used to busk and street-perform and do little club gigs here and there. And our very first show as The Rose, we had about 20 people show up, and half of them were our friends. But look at all you motherf—ers now!”
Opening with ‘Eclipse’ from their 2023 album “DUAL,” released by Transparent Arts/Windfall, they mesmerized the audience with hits like ‘Shift,’ ‘Lifeline,’ and ‘RED’ gaining them a bouquet of new fans. The Rose's presence at Coachella 2024 proved unforgettable, marking a highlight of the festival's third day and solidifying their status as a powerhouse in the global music scene.
The Rose will play The Outdoor Theatre on Sunday, April 21 closing out the 2nd weekend of the festival.
