(sic)boy has a rare presence with a style that incorporates elements of alternative, emo, and loud rock, as well as the melodic flow found in J-rock, into hip-hop.
The intensity of the songs released on SoundCloud in 2019 attracted a lot
of attention, and his first album CHAOS TAPE released in October 2020
was called "genre Tokyo" because of its unique worldview and
genreless sound based on the theme of Tokyo. He was selected for Spotify's
"RADAR: Early Noise 2021," Apple Music's "Up Next Japan," and
YouTube Music's "YouTube Music Sessions 2021," and garnered a great deal
of attention in Japan. In 2021,
he released the album vanitas with guest appearances by lil aaron, phem, and other artists who are gaining attention in the American independent scene, as well as up-and-coming artists in Japan.
In 2022, his music was featured in a collaboration commercial between
Netflix and Suntory,
and he also released a song with American artist nothing, nowhere. He has performed
at various large festivals beyond genres such as SUMMER SONIC, ROCK IN JAPAN
FESTIVAL, and POP YOURS, and had a one-man live performance at Zepp Yokohama,
etc.
