NCT’s leader Lee Taeyong releases the music video for the title track and first mini-album “SHALALA”.
Today, Taeyong from NCT released his first mini-album “SHALALA” and the music video for the title track. The album comes in 5 different versions: ARCHIVE, THORN, COLLECTOR, DIGIPACK, and SMini. ‘Tyongfs’ or fans of Taeyong can expect various goodies from the different album versions such as photo books, photo cards, artist posters, sticker sets, and a SMini CD case and NFC CD (only available if you purchase the SMini version).
“SHALALA” is an upbeat and groovy, hip-hop track. The lyrics convey a sense of self-confidence by highlighting the aspect of expressing oneself unapologetically, whether through having a unique, individual fashion style or a good vibe. Both the lyrics and the music video showcase Taeyong’s individual artistic style.
In addition to the title track “SHALALA”, fans can enjoy 6 other tracks on the mini-album such as “관둬 (GWANDO)”, “Move Mood Mode (Feat. WENDY of Red Velvet)”, “Virtual Insanity”, “RUBY”, “404 File Not Found”, and “Back to the Past”.

Although “SHALALA” is Taeyong’s first official mini-album release, this is not the first time he has released music. His first digital single was “Long Flight” released on July 18, 2019, on SMTOWN’s STATION Youtube channel. Over the past 4 years, Taeyong has released more music that he has produced, written lyrics for, and composed on his Soundcloud ‘TY’ with titles like “Darkcloud”, “Blue”, and “Fine”, as well as collaborations with EXO member Baekhyun on “Monroe”, and Red Velvet’s Seulgi on “Rose”.
Taeyong has also collaborated with many other Korean artists such as featuring rapper and singer, Wonstein, on his 2022 single “Love Theory”. He also lent his unique vocals and melodic rapping to R&B singer and songwriter Suran's single, "Diamond". In 2021, Taeyong also featured on Hotel Del Luna’s 13th OST, "Love Deluna” with K-Drama OST veteran singer PUNCH. Aside from these collaborations with Korean artists, Taeyong has also embarked on collaborations with American artists such as Marteen on his song "Mood". It is evident to his fans that he has a passion for creating music and continues to work on projects that help shape him as a musician and artist in addition to his work with NCT. He is talented in dance, choreography, singing, rap, music composition, music production, and writing lyrics making him an all-rounder artist.
Last year, Taeyong announced the launch of his own Youtube channel and fans shared their excitement. Since then, Taeyong has released performance videos for his singles such as “Lonely” featuring Suran and “Ghost”. Additionally, he has posted videos of personal vlogs called ‘TY Vlog’ capturing fun moments during tours with other members of NCT or behind the scenes of his daily life.
