BTS J-Hope is bringing us back into the box with the latest announcement of his exclusive documentary Jack In The Box. The documentary will be released Feb 17, 5 PM (KST) on Weverse & Disney+ Globally. Jack in the box will explore the making of the album, alongside the build-up to the history-making debut at Lollapalooza dubbed Hobipalooza. BigHit described the film produced by Hybe as “A never-before-seen look at the creative challenges faced during the album’s preparation process. The rapper-dancer spent around 200 days making the album and performing as the closer of the 2022 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. He became the first Korean act to headline a major U.S. festival.”
2022 saw J-Hope take chapter two to another level and the first of the seven members of BTS to begin with the solo debut album Jack In The Box. The critically acclaimed album broke several records and placed 9th in Rolling Stones Best albums of 2022. A first for a Korean male soloist, Rolling stone described Jack In The Box as “The first BTS member to release a solo album, J-Hope set the bar high with ‘Jack In The Box,’ a 10-track concept album that opens with a retelling of the myth of Pandora’s box. The last item in that mythical, chaotic container was hope, after which the rapper named himself an apt description, if this growly, endlessly creative debut is any indication."
Since the album's release on July 15th, Hope went on to Lollapalooza as the first Korean artist to headline a festival alongside TXT. The rollercoaster didn't stop there, soon followed a collaboration with P-Nation's Crush on the RnB track “Rush Hour.” December saw him set the stage a blaze at the MAMA awards, with a Jack In The Box medley of tracks and going on to collect BTS’s special Yogibo World Wide Icon of the Year. Rounding off 2022 nicely with a special performance at Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's eve Party.
J-Hope fails to slow down, making an appearance in January at the Golden Disc awards in Bangkok collecting another Daesang for BTS Album of the year Proof. This week saw him invited as a Louis Vuitton guest of their Men's W/A 2023 collection in Paris. Who knows what else this man has up his sleeve, without a doubt he shows no sign of slowing down. The best is once again yet to come for ARMYS.
