Devine Channel, an in-house producer team under Chord Share, just released their 1st full-length album, Unorthodox, on July 14, 2022.
Kei Lim, Chord Share CEO and Devine Channel founder, spearheaded this album as the main producer. Kei has worked on many hits such as BTS’ "Fire," Kang Daniel’s "What Are You Up To," Triple H’s “RETRO FUTURE,” Taeyeon’s "Secret," Nipsey Hussle’s “Real Big (Feat. Marsha Ambrosius),” and many more. Because of Kei’s impressive discography history, I was expecting nothing but the best for this album release, and as expected, he certainly did not miss!
Unorthodox consists of 12 tracks and is approximately 34 minutes long. There are several feature artists on this album including, Sik-K, THAMA, MILLI, Lil Cherry, CHANYEOL, Loopy, and Tory Lanez, to name a few. The title tracks are “On It” and “Still Me.”
This album is perfect for you to listen to during a workout routine to get you hype or even just sitting down, relaxing, and having a drink. One thing for certain is that Unorthodox is an album that brings good vibes. The beats are fire, and the vocals on each track are on point. What more could you want in an album?
While listening to the album, the songs that stood out the most were “E.A.T,” “Live Legend,” and “Being True.” These are just a few of the songs you want to play when you get handed the aux. The beats, melodies, and vocals in these songs will truly blow you away!
Unorthodox has mainly Hip Hop and R&B elements, but there are also some House and Reggae elements in some songs, which is a nice touch. If you're a Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Kendrick Lamar, or Rihanna, you would definitely enjoy listening to this album.
