Nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards were announced on July 27 and BTS showed its point by being nominated for four different categories. Thus, it was the group with the most indications this year.
BTS is one of the candidates to win the Best K-pop award with the song "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)". It is worth remembering that the boy group has won this award in the last three years, that is since the category was created by MTV in 2019. Like Best K-pop, BTS competes against Lisa from Blackpink, ITZY, TWICE, and Seventeen.
Jin, V, Suga, Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, and Rap Monster were also nominated in the Best Choreography category with the song "Permission to Dance" released last year. The group competes against Doja Cat's "Woman," Harry Styles' "As It Was" and FKA twigs ft. The Weekend's "Tears In The Club."
BTS was also nominated as Best Metaverse Performance and available against Blackpink. In addition, the boy group was named Best Visual Effects with the song "My Universe" with the collaboration of Coldplay. In this category, BTS competes against Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever."
It's important to say that Seventeen was nominated in three different categories. They are: Best New Artist, Push Performance of the Year for "Rock With You" and Best K-pop for "HOT."
