With tomorrow night’s episode of KBS’s long-running weekly music show “Music Bank” featuring the end of Arin and Soobin’s iconic tenure, we’ve decided to take a look back at the ten main “Music Bank” couples of the last decade.
Actor Hyun Woo and actress Kim Min-ji
Actor Hyun Woo (known for his roles in “Pasta” and “Living Among the Rich”) and actress Kim Min-ji (known for her roles in “Boys Over Flowers” and “Golden Cross”) start out the decade and our list as hosts of “Music Bank” for eleven months between early December 2010 and late October 2011.
Actor Lee Jang-woo and After School’s Uee
Our next major “Music Bank” couple are actor Lee Jang-woo (known for his roles in “Glory Jane” and “Homemade Love Story”) and After School’s Uee.
Together, they hosted the show for fifteen months between early January 2012 and late March 2013.
Uee had also previously hosted “Music Bank” for three weeks alongside actor Hyun Woo immediately following Kim Min-ji’s departure from hosting duties.
2AM’s Jeong Jinwoon and actress Park Se-young
Two weeks after the previous couple departed from their hosting duties, 2AM’s Jeong Jinwoon and actress Park Se-young (known for her roles in “Sincerity Moves Heaven” and “Glorious Day”) took on the job.
Although only hosting for the short period of six months between mid-April and early October 2013, they were still a memorable couple.
Following Jinwoon’s departure from hosting duties due to his car accident, Se-young hosted for another two weeks with guest hosts 2AM’s Jo Kwon and Seulong.
Actor Park Seo-joon and Sistar’s Yoon Bora
Easily the most memorable “Music Bank” couple in history (following Arin and Soobin, obviously) is actor Park Seo-joon (known for his roles in “Kill Me, Heal Me” and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”) and Sistar’s Yoon Bora.
Seo-joon and Bora hosted “Music Bank” for an incredible eighteen months between October 2013 and April 2015, putting them up there amongst the show’s longest-serving hosts.
Actor Park Bo-gum and Red Velvet’s Irene
Immediately following Seo-joon and Bora’s departure from “Music Bank”, actor Park Bo-gum (known for his roles in “Reply 1988” and “Love in the Moonlight”) and Red Velvet’s Irene stepped in to fill the roles.
Another long-serving couple, Bo-gum and Irene hosted the show for fourteen months between May 2015 and June 2016.
CNBLUE’s Kang Min-hyuk and Laboum’s Solbin
From July 2016, the hosting duties of “Music Bank” fell to CNBLUE’s Kang Min-hyuk and Laboum’s Solbin.
The duo only hosted the show for a short amount of time - about four months - between early July and early November 2016.
Following Min-hyuk’s departure, Solbin continued to host, as can be seen below.
Actor Lee Seo-won and Laboum’s Solbin
When Min-hyuk left “Music Bank”, it fell to actor Lee Seo-won (known for his roles in “Uncontrollably Fond” and “The Liar and His Lover”) to fill the role alongside experienced host Solbin.
The couple hosted the show for eighteen months between November 2016 and May 2018, until Lee Seo-won was removed from his hosting duties by KBS due to being under investigation surrounding sexual harassment and intimidation charges, of which he ultimately plead guilty to.
For several weeks following Seo-won’s removal from the show, Solbin continued to host for a month alongside an array of guest hosts, including VIXX’s N, Highlight’s Son Dong-woon, SHINee’s Taemin, and BTS’s Kim Seok-jin.
Lovelyz Kei and actor Choi Won-myung
Lovelyz’s Kei and actor Choi Won-myung (known for his roles in “Between Friendship and Love 2” and “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon”) hosted “Music Bank” for just over a year between mid-June 2018 and late June 2019.
Actress Shin Ye-eun and Golden Child’s Choi Bo-min
Actress Shin Ye-eun (known for her roles in the web series “A-Teen” and the television series “He Is Psychometric”) and Golden Child’s Choi Bo-min hosted “Music Bank” for just over a year from early July 2019 to mid-July 2020.
Oh My Girl’s Arin and TXT’s Choi Soo-bin
Oh My Girl’s Arin and TXT’s Choi Soo-bin have been an iconic duo for “Music Bank”, bringing a refreshed energy to the show following the viral hit of their performance of Oh My Girl’s “Dolphin”.
The duo have now been hosting the show for just over fourteen months since late July 2020, and with the end of their reign, they will be handing over the hosting duties of the show to former Iz*One member Jang Won-young and Enhypen’s Park Sung-hoon, who start on Friday, October 8.
